Choir Biography

The choirs of Eisenhower High School in New Berlin, Wisconsin have achieved numerous awards at the state and national level. They have traveled extensively in the State of Wisconsin and abroad. In 2005 the choir and orchestra from Eisenhower toured England and Ireland, and in 2004 the choir achieved the highest rating possible at the Performing Arts Music Festival in Nassau, Bahamas. The Eisenhower Chamber ensembles routinely achieve high marks at the Wisconsin State Music Festival in the Early Music, Madrigal and Jazz Categories. The literature performed by the Eisenhower A Cappella Choir covers a wide spectrum of the choral art, from the motets of Palestrina to the dissonances of Whittacre, covering large works such as the Mozart Requiem and Schubert's Mass in G, as well as small octavos and art pieces. The choir performs a large variety of World music specializing in the music of West Africa, North America, South America and Eastern European choral traditions. It is the mission of the choral program at Eisenhower to produce well rounded and technically sound choral musicians with an appreciation and knowledge of a broad range of vocal styles

 

 

 

Natalie Baertschy Biography

In her fourth year of teaching, Ms. Baertschy has taught elementary general music, middle and high school choir. Before coming to New Berlin Eisenhower, she taught in the School District of Waukesha.

Ms. Baertschy began her music studies at Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge with Dr. Stephen Austin. She finished her degree in Music Education at UW-Madison in 2003. Ms Baertschy was an active member of the UW-Madison Concert Choir and studied voice with Professor Mimmi Fulmer.

Ms. Baertschy is currently finishing her Master's in Music Education with a Choral Conducting at UW-Milwaukee. She is eagerly looking forward to her final recital which will feature the Eisenhower High School Choirs in May 2008. Ms. Baertschy is a member of the Wisconsin Choral Director's Association, American Choral Director's Association, MENC, The VoiceCare Network, and is an active WSMA Adjudicator.

School House Rock, Jr. Auditions
The Eisenhower Middle School musical auditions will be held on Monday, October 29th and Tuesday, October 30th. All middle school students are encourgaged to audition. Students are asked to prepare a 60 second monologue and one of the songs posted. Call-backs will be held on Thursday, November 1st.

Cabaret Auditions
Cabaret is a variety show sponsored by the Eisenhower Choir Department. All high school bands, combos, soloists, etc are encouraged to audition. Audition dates are Thursday, November 8th and Friday, November 9th. Sign-ups are on the choir room door.

Concert Attire
Concert Attire: Ladies: -White blouse or shirt that has sleeves and covers midsection. The shirt must cover the shoulders. Short sleeves, cap sleeves, ¾ length sleeves, and long sleeves are all acceptable. If in doubt, ask Miss Day. -Black pants, skirts, capris, or gouchos are all acceptable choices in attire. Skirts must come to the knees! -Black dress shoes. Gentlemen: -White dress shirt with a collar. The shirt may be long or short sleeved. Ties are encouraged! -Black dress pants. -Black dress shoes and black socks. Robe Wearers: -Robes must be kept in good condition and at school. Each person will be assigned a numbered robe at the beginning of the school year. Lost robes will result in a replacement fee.

Crazy for You
Cast-member auditions for the high school musical, Crazy for You, will be held on Tuesday, December 18th and Wednesday, December 19th. More details to come.
