Spin fundraiser: We are almost sold out of bikes! This is a popular annual fundraiser for the nursery school. Contact Alexis Freeman at email@example.com or Wendy Ross at firstname.lastname@example.org for more information. To sign-up, please click here.
Parent Focus Group: Please to RSVP to Linda at email@example.com if you are interested in taking part in our new Parent Focus Group initiative. This will be a small group conversation with Noah or Shari and one of our PA co-chairs, Wendy or Alexis. In our ongoing quest to provide the optimal environment for our community, we will be creating a series of small-group, guided conversations. Our goals in these conversations are to create a space for parents' voices to be heard and to generate conversations that will lead to positive changes in our school.
Amy Rosenfeld: Check out a brand new video of Amy, our school librarian, as part of the “Everyday Extraordinary” campaign. Congratulations Amy!
Hemophilia Walk: 10 years ago, there was no such thing as a Hemophilia Walk – that all changed, right here at JCC Manhattan. A nursery school parent, supported by our school community, began the first Hemophilia Walk right around the corner a decade ago in Riverside Park. It has since blossomed into 40 walks across the country which have together raised over 10 million dollars. This year’s walk is Sunday May 31st; Registration begins at 9am, Walk begins at 10am; Enter Riverside park at 83rdstreet. We would love to have a strong JCC nursery showing at this walk to honor the walk’s origins in our community!
A word from Melissa Penn, Zak’s mother and founder of the Hemophilia walk: you can reach Melissa directly at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Join Zakophilia - The First Team! For the record- We really were the first team!!! WE started it all. Us. And now it's in forty cities across the country! What makes this year's walk different from all other years? We eat matzo! No but seriously if you want to bring matzo on the walk be my guest. For the rest of you, we have bagels at the start/finish. THIS YEAR IS DIFFERENT BECAUSE IT'S OUR 10TH WALK!
This year, the tie-die walk shirts are for kids, adults, and dogs! (As long as your dogs donate, of course!) Most of all, it means so much to us when you walk with us! Plus, you can't go wrong spending a Sunday morning in Riverside Park, helping out people with bleeding disorders.
