Science Curriculum
Philosophy

Science is a human activity through which problems and questions dealing with the natural world and natural phenomena are identified and defined, and answers are proposed and tested through a process which involves observation and experimentation, and data collections and analysis.

It is significant to note that scientific discovery has and does exist and occurs in an historical context, influenced by societal, cultural, and political issues. The application of science through technology is in dynamic equilibrium with these same influences.

The broad base of science and technology in all aspects of modern life requires a scientifically literate citizenry. The goal of this science curriculum is to promote scientific literacy in students by providing teachers with a framework for assisting students in the acquisition of science knowledge and development of science skills and processes.
